Accreditation and Details of Our Online CME ProgramsTop experts in the fields of Primary Care, Psychiatry, Gynecology and Family Practice present our streaming video lectures on topics of importance critical to clinicians caring for women. All of the videos are CME accredited through The Health Communication Research Institute, Inc., (HCRI), a CMA-accredited provider for continuing medical education in Category 1 toward the California Medical Association's Certification in Continuing Medical Education and the American Medical Association's Physician's Recognition Award. We currently are pleased to offer CME as well as CE for AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists). Applications are pending for CEU's for PhDs and LCSWs. It is our understanding the California Medical Association's Certification in Continuing Medical Education may be acceptable for certain western states for PhD CEU's. To confirm this please contact the American Psychological Association. For some of our programs for 2006 and beyond we will have national CME from the American Academy of Family Practitioners as well as ACCME from Starfish Partners, a provider of ACCME. CME ProvidersHCRI is a 16-year-old non-profit organization, headquartered in Sacramento, CA, and affiliated with California State University, Sacramento, and the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, to provide clinicians with CME/CE streaming videos. The senior staff of HCRI hold faculty appointments at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine; California State University, Sacramento, and the UCD Center for Medical Informatics. HCRI has been accredited for CME as a CME provider in Category 1 toward the California Medical Association's Certification in Continuing Medical Education and the American Medical Association's Physicians Recognition Award. Starfish Partners is an innovative online health care organization with a focus on integrative medicine. As part of their organization they have developed an evidenced based ACCME arm that is separate from the Starfish partners organization that is focused on integrations of novel and customary therapies that may or may not meet evidenced based medicine criteria. We are thankful to the Starfish Partners CME arm for supporting our programs in 2006. Through Starfish ACCME, the foundation has been able to apply for American Academy of Family Physicians CME for some of itŐs programs. We felt that having both ACCME and AAFP certification that this would be an additional service to our clinicians readers. Funding/GrantsAFWH and HCRI have sought out educational grants to support these online programs. Both AFWH and HCRI follow the ACCME's updated standards for commercial support.
